The mission of the Friends of Cañada de los Osos Ecological Reserve is to get both adults and youth involved in outdoor programs on the Reserve, and to help in the understanding and management of natural resources. Toward that goal, we have partnered with other organizations and companies, including the California Deer Association, the Mule Deer Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Gilroy Rotary, PG&E, and Bass Pro.

These, along with many local businesses and individuals, have contributed funding and volunteer time that have made our programs at the Reserve possible. The Gilroy Foundation also provided invaluable assistance in administering funding and assisting the Friends of CDLO in becoming a non-profit organization. Local scout and youth groups have brought youngsters to the Reserve to provide an outdoor experience for a new generation.

These partnerships, along with our partnership with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to manage the Reserve, have made the Reserve what it is today—a place where young people and adults can learn about the great outdoors, and can participate in resource management activities.

We continue to seek other organizations and individuals to help programs at the Reserve to grow. If you would like to donate, please see our Donation page.
